On the Workbench – Paint Shaker 10th Mar 2026

As the Third Silesian War project continues to expand, the logistics of the hobby desk itself must evolve. With hundreds of Baccus and Irregular Miniatures figures in the queue, maintaining paint consistency is paramount.

To that end, a new piece of "heavy equipment" has arrived at the Muskets & Magnification studios: a Nail Lacquer Shaker.

Why a Lacquer Shaker?

  • Pigment Consistency: Ensuring that specific shades of Prussian Blue and Austrian White remain perfectly mixed across entire divisions.
  • Efficiency: Reducing manual fatigue when preparing multiple bottles for a long painting session.
  • Longevity: Reviving older paints that may have settled while focusing on other regimental batches.

It is a small but vital addition to the workshop. By automating the preparation of our inks and acrylics, we ensure that the high-contrast "Duffy" aesthetic remains uniform across every 6mm battalion, from the first recruit to the final overall commander.
