There is nothing quite like the feeling of an international parcel hitting the doorstep, especially when it contains a classic piece of campaign gaming history you’ve been eagerly anticipating! My boxed copy of GDW’s 1982 classic, Soldier King , officially arrived today—safely shipped over from Noble Knight Games. The components are in fantastic condition. Leafing through those vintage 1982 rulebook pages and unrolling the map sheets in person immediately brings back that great, nostalgic operational gaming aesthetic. The Prussian war machine receives its most significant reinforcement to date. Following our Austrian order, a massive commission for a bespoke Prussian Army is now underway, ensuring that Frederick the Great’s forces are represented with absolute historical fidelity for the Muskets & Magnification archives.

This expansion is built upon the specific regimental briefs sent to the studio, adhering strictly to the Kronoskaf Prussian Army lists for every facing colour, lace detail, and button metal across the 6mm ranks.

The Prussian Order of Battle includes:

  • Infantry: The backbone of the army, spanning IR1 through IR16.
  • Cuirassiers: The heavy shock of the Prussian cavalry from CR1 through CR9.
  • Dragoons: The versatile mounted regiments of DR1 through DR4.
  • Hussars: The elite light horse screen including HR1 through HR4.

As with our Imperial forces, every regiment is being expertly painted by Mersey Wargames and will be individually wrapped and labelled by the studio. This ensures a seamless transition from the workbench to our Black Powder battle reports, providing a visually stunning and historically accurate representation of the mid-18th century's most disciplined military force.
