There is nothing quite like the feeling of an international parcel hitting the doorstep, especially when it contains a classic piece of campaign gaming history you’ve been eagerly anticipating! My boxed copy of GDW’s 1982 classic, Soldier King , officially arrived today—safely shipped over from Noble Knight Games. The components are in fantastic condition. Leafing through those vintage 1982 rulebook pages and unrolling the map sheets in person immediately brings back that great, nostalgic operational gaming aesthetic. As the sun rises over the virtual Bohemian fields this morning, I wanted to take a brief moment away from the Baccus painting desk to wish all my readers and fellow hobbyists a very Happy Easter.

Whether you are spending the long weekend navigating a caravan holiday to a favourite C&CC site (with CAMC sites as a reliable fallback), or simply enjoying the quiet of a permanent table at home, I hope the break provides some much-needed rest and restorative time.

For the solitary commander, these bank holiday weekends are a rare gift—a chance to let the Black Powder smoke clear and focus on those small details that make the Third Silesian War project so rewarding.
